Eva's Coat

I finished the coat for Eva. I used bias binding last year on some coats and loved the way it looked so I used it on this coat too. It is such a simple way to finish off a lined coat.

It's a little big, but that is the great thing about sewing for babies - you know it won't be long until it fits them.

Drop Bear

A Drop Bear. I think they are much cuter and friendlier than reported. Thanks Jodie for helping me name them.
A coat in progress for Eva with lots of bias binding.

Good presents

I received my birthday present from Chris yesterday. A ball winder and a skein holder. They are brilliant. So quick and much less swearing.

Words

I can't seem to think of anything to write lately so I think I'll go wordless, or close to it, for a while.

Kool Aid Dyeing

It was inevitable. Knitting and then spinning and now dyeing. I thought I'd try kool aid first. I can't believe people drink that stuff. It does dye nicely though.

Knitzi

My new Knitzi. I seem to have broken a few needles so I think buying one should save money in the long run.

Bags

I've been trying to write a post all day, but something always happened and now I'm too tired and I have to sleep while Eva is. Some pretty bags I finished today which should be in the shop soon.

Haircuts

The girls and I had our hair cut last week. Not as traumatic as I thought. They even sat in the high chair and took turns having their hair cut at the same time I had mine done.
The girls asked me to make them a playpus each last week so yesterday we finished them off, unfortunately Grace said she felt too grumpy to smile this morning.

Mmmm chocolate

The little town I live in has a lolly shop which I usually try to avoid, but I took the girls in last week as a treat so we could buy Chris a birthday present. Cobbers and Bertie Beetles - yum.

Don't you love a surprise in the mail, especially when they are as gorgeous as this? Thanks Rachael it is fantastic.

A new fish in one of my favourite colour combinations.

Little Fat Slug

Eva has become known (in the most affectionate way) as little sluggy thanks to my Mum who first said she looked like a little fat slug.
Here is my present to her - a little slug.Which inspired me to finally have a go at the gocco. I can't believe it took me so long and I can't believe how easy it is!

A Platypus or Two or Three

A few more of these little critters are in the shop.
(Notice my attempts at trying to form sentences with out having to work out if the plural is platypuses or platypii).

Knitting and Movies

I really should finish something already on the needles, but nothing was inspiring me so I started some new Jaywalker socks.
The start of a cardigan for my niece Emme.

Sue tagged me for the movie meme a few weeks ago. Living in the country and having children means I haven't actually been to the movies since September 2004 so it's taken me a while to think about this.
1. One movie that made you laugh - The Castle.
2. One movie that made you cry - I'm not a cryer. If you see me cry at a movie it means I have really bad PMT - just back away slowly.
3. One movie that you loved as a child - I didn't see many movies as a child - I remember being taken to see The Man from Snowy River
4. One movie you've seen more than once - Dangerous Liaisons and a lot of 80s movies like Ferris Bueller and The Breakfast Club.
5. One movie you loved, but were embarrased to admit it - Girls Just Want to Have Fun, we used to watch this a lot when we were young. Funny Sarah Jessica Parker never mentions this one.
6. One movie you hated - Knocked Up - barely got half way before I gave up on it.
7. One movie that scared you - I once went to a double of The Clockwork Orange and Natural Born Killers.
8. One movie that bored you - I'm not big on childrens movies, Shrek, Nemo etc I can't sit through them.
9. One movie that made you happy - The Princess Bride
10. One movie that made you miserable - Dead Man Walking
11. One movie that you werent brave enough to see - Can't think of one
12. One movie characted you've fallen in love with - this was really tricky and I can't think today.
13. The last movie you saw: The Nanny Diaries - I was really disappointed.
14. The next movie you hope to see: Can't wait to see The Sex and the City Movie.
I'm not tagging anyone, but if you have any good suggestions for what I should rent next from the DVD shop as soon as I am not so sleep deprived let me know.

Softies for Mirabel

How can one tiny little person seem to be the cause of so much washing. My washing used to be under control, but now the washing machine never seems to stop and it seems to be bursting out of the laudry. In between loads I managed to finish a platypus and have finally sent a package to Pip with some Softies for Mirabel.

I love this time of the year when there is dew in the morning and the spiders have been busy.

At the Farm

Chris had to go to Perth for a conference so rather than staying home by myself I headed off to Mum and Dad's for a few days. My sister thought she'd come for a visit too. So there was 5 little girls in the house. Dad seemed to spend a bit of time up the shed when he wasn't working.

It is my birthday this week and Jane made me a surprise cake. It couldn't have been more perfect (or yummy).
